This Ethnic and Special Ministries Network is a Cross Cultural Mission Movement in partnership with the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.

Our intent is to provide a "connector" to help District Ministries reach Unchurched Immigrants, Refugees, International Students and International Workers in our communities throughout Northern Illinois.

You will find a variety of Outreach Ministry Groups on these pages.  At the left Click on Our Ministry Groups to learn more about each one.  Click on Group News & Announcements to be informed of announcements, reports and activities specific to individual Ministry Groups.  At the top of the page, you may contact a Ministry Group - just click Find a Ministry Group and Email the Ministry Group Leader.

And please know that your prayers and financial support would be a great help and encouragement for the individual ministry leaders and their work.

All of these Mission Ministries are coming together on this site to communicate with you and with each other, to share opportunities, information and ideas, and to be an encouragement to us all for an even greater determination and effectiveness in REACHING THE UNCHURCHED IN OUR COMMUNITIES FOR JESUS CHRIST.

Multi-Cultural Concert   ...  Sponsored by NID LWML and Zion Winston Lutheran Church.

Sunday, May 17, 2009 - 3:00 pm  ...  Location:  9901 S. Winston Ave., Chicago, IL 60643.

On May 17, we had the multi cultural concert at Zion Lutheran Church on Winston Ave.
in Chicago.  The concert turned out to be a joyful event as choirs and dancers from
Zion participated, as well as the Reveal praise band and singers from Trinity Tinley Park,
children's choir from Jehovah El Buen Pastor School, and choirs from Resurrection
and Ebenezer churches.  The concert was about two hours, but it passed much
too quickly, as we listened to music from different ethnicities and watched the
praise dancers.  After the concert we gathered together for fellowship and  good
food as the Zion ladies kept us well fed.  There were about 110 in attendance.  We
hope this will be the beginning of many multi cultural concerts to come.

In June the NID LWML multi culture ministry will meet and plan strategy for the
remainder of the year.  We hope to encourage LWML members to help at
St. Matthews when they serve dinners to the community and to have the
LWML societies partner with a multi culture society or help to begin a new
group.

Please let us know of any activities that your congregation will be having so
that we can come and participate as well.

Our goal is relationship building between the many cultures.
